About Nicholas Vita

nicholas-vita-columbia-careAs a senior partner of Apelles Investment Management (AIM), Nicholas Vita oversees a number of investments and operating companies with a particular focus on the health care industry. Managing a team of veteran professionals, he oversees personnel responsible for the legal, infrastructure, investment and business aspects of operations. Nicholas Vita and the New York-based AIM team pursue a variety of investment strategies that include mezzanine financings and acquisition of high-yield and distressed debt.

From 2002 to 2006, Mr. Vita was general partner and health care sector portfolio manager with ARX Investment Management, LP. His work with the globally diversified, multi-billion-dollar credit hedge fund involved seeking investment opportunities and sustaining close corporate and government relationships throughout the life cycle of each investment in his portfolio. Working across a full range of asset classes, Mr. Vita specialized in highly leveraged, distressed debt and assets (both pre and post petition). In his role, he conducted capital structure and covenant analysis as well as all aspects of establishing core enterprise valuation with the intention of focusing on exploitable capital structure and valuation inefficiencies.

When not at work, Nicholas Vita remains involved with his community. He held past responsibilities as inaugural board member with Deerfield Academy Club of New York and Somos Amigos Medical Missions. He sits on a number of not-for-profit boards throughout the United States where he champions the interests of healthcare access, first responders and their families and veterans.
